Overview

Nestled in the heart of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, Someplace Else Restaurant II offers a genuine taste of classic American dining with a welcoming neighborhood vibe. Located conveniently on W Walworth Street, this local gem serves up hearty dishes that celebrate Midwestern comfort food traditions while embracing fresh, made-to-order preparation.

The standout on the menu is undeniably their Fish Fry, a beloved Wisconsin staple that draws both locals and travelers alike. Beyond that, crowd favorites like the Chicken Pot Pie—with its flaky crust and generous chicken filling—and the savory Baked French Onion Soup highlight the kitchen’s skillful balance between homestyle flavors and attentive execution. Their Wisconsin Cheese Curds are an irresistible nod to the region’s rich dairy heritage, delivering that familiar crisp and mild tang.

Someplace Else II also offers a variety of wraps, such as the Asian Wrap and Chicken Bacon Wrap, catering to those seeking lighter yet flavorful options. Alongside these, signature sides like Freakin Fries and Jumbo Hand-Breaded Wings add variety for sharing or snacking.

The restaurant’s atmosphere is intimate and family-friendly, with plenty of seating and a cozy vibe that invites guests to linger. Whether sitting at the bar or a table, patrons appreciate the attentive, friendly service that doesn’t rush the experience—just as Tony Stefanski noted after savoring his meal. Live sports on TV and a selection of local beers on tap, including the regionally cherished Spotted Cow, enhance the casual gathering feel.

This spot resonates well with families, local regulars, and visitors passing through, especially those in search of authentic regional fare and welcoming hospitality. The consistency of fresh ingredients and timely service has made it a reliable choice for both weekday lunches and lively Friday night fish fries that keep guests returning.

In sum, Someplace Else Restaurant II marries the comfort of American classics with the warmth of a local tavern. Its rich menu, cozy space, and genuine, unfussy hospitality make it a worthy stop in Elkhorn’s culinary scene.

This is one of the best places to go for Fish Fry or any other meal for that matter. The French Onion Soup is very good. They are quick at getting you seated and food brought to the table without making you feel rushed. Someplace Else was way better than the Fish Fry I had last Friday (7/26).

Traveling thru the area on business and I always like to find something local (not a chain). This checked all my boxes: local, friendly, cold (local) beer on tap, baseball on the TV, great menu that made ordering one difficult! I chose the chicken pot pie, advertised as a best seller. The crust was flaky and perfectly cooked. The filling was hot with lots of chicken. I had two Spotted Cow beers, ice cold and refreshing. The meal came with a cup of soup, creamy Reuben, that was hot and flavorful. I couldn’t resist the Wisconsin cheese curds and snacked on those while I waited for my entree. All of my food was served hot and fresh with little wait. I sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly and attentive. If I’m back in the area, I will definitely return for the Friday night fish fry!

Great food, great service. Pot pie was good, as was Ruben. Good pub pretzels. Good beef au jus dip. However the banana bread pudding was AMAZING. Update 1 year later. Food and service still on point. Prime rib great. Banana bread pudding remains amazing! Our server was super friendly.

It was pretty late on a Saturday night and we wanted a quick bite after a long day at a nearby lake. My French onion soup was delicious. Hearty, tasty, perfection. My girlfriend was happy with her soup as well. We ordered a small veggie pizza, which was surprisingly big enough for both of us. The pizza wasn't the best pizza I ever had, dough and sauce felt a little industrial, but the toppings were spot on and overall it was good. Service was great and fast. Thank you!

Great little place with super friendly staff, fun atmosphere and delicious food. Quick service with all our food questions asked. Portions were large and food came out piping hot. Very fresh flavor and you could tell food was homemade by the taste and appearance. Would highly recommend.
